Lifeโs toughest moments have a way of revealing who is truly there for us. Many situations in the past has taught me an important truth: support isnโt optionalโitโs essential.
When family and friends you expect to lean on are absent during your storms, itโs a painful wake-up call. But let me remind you: your worth isnโt defined by their absence. Itโs in how you rise above, prioritize your peace, and choose relationships that uplift you.
There was a time when two relatives of mine joined a live session on social mediaโnot just to spread unkind and untrue things about me, but to outright deny me as their family. One of them was someone I had lovingly raised, pouring my time and resources into their growth. The other was someone I had been there for, supporting and guiding through the earlier stages of her life. The betrayal cut deep, but instead of retaliating or allowing their words to define me, I chose to take the high road. I set firm boundaries to protect my heart, my peace, and my focus.
Proverbs 26:24 says, โA hateful person disguises themselves with their words, but in their heart, they harbor deceit.โ Sometimes, their absence, betrayal, or negativity is Godโs way of clearing the path for the right people to enter your life.
Proverbs 17:17 reminds us, โA friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.โ True friends and family arenโt supposed to vanish or be invisible and silent when life gets hardโthey stand firm beside you, offering love, prayers, and encouragement.
I donโt know about you, but in 2025, I am making it clearer that there is no room for unsupportive energy in my life.
This means:
- Prioritizing connections that add value and love.
- Letting go of those who repeatedly choose to ignore, criticize, or abandon me.
- Focusing on building a circle that celebrates, supports, and strengthens me.
Proverbs 18:24 says, โA man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.โ Choose depth over quantity. Sometimes, letting go of toxic relationships creates space for God to place better ones in your life.
As we continue this walk into the first month of this new year, I encourage you to reflect:
- Who consistently supports your growth, healing, and joy?
- What relationships drain your energy and pull you away from your purpose?
Itโs time to realign your circle with those who truly love you for who you are and stand with you in both good times and bad.
To those feeling abandoned or unsupported, take heart: God is your ultimate anchor and supporter. His love is constant, unwavering, and unmatched. Trust Him to guide you to the right people and give you strength to move forward.
Letโs make 2025 the year of unwavering boundaries, unmatched joy, and unshakable peace.
Declaring to you all a year of meaningful relationships and divine connections.

Adversity is the deciding factor in a personโs strength . Without adversity we may amble along until the seas get rough . Always keep on your thinking cap and let your intelligence be your guide . Youโre already a winner .
You’re absolutely rightโadversity is what truly shapes our strength and resilience. It’s through facing challenges that we discover our true capabilities. Keeping our minds sharp and using our intelligence to guide us is key. I truly believe that with faith and perseverance, we can overcome any obstacle and emerge even stronger. Thank you for being a part of this journey!
We always look for our biological family to be there for us, but it don’t always happen, others are to benifit from your way of dealing with the situation to make them strong to encourage someone else
Thank you for your perspective. I agree wholeheartedly. God has a way of turning challenges into opportunities to uplift others, encouraging many to persevere through their own struggles.
